In Short Hills, NJ heat, warm air, iced lines, or a tripping breaker isn't something to sit on. Pressure, amp draw, and coil condition all get checked before any part gets quoted.
A refrigerant top-off with no leak search is a classic way homeowners in Short Hills end up paying twice. We pull static and running pressures, check superheat and subcooling against factory spec, and use electronic detection to find the actual leak, because a properly repaired leak outlasts three top-offs.
What every AC visit includes.
Every tech handling refrigerant carries current federal certification — a legal requirement we take seriously.
We bump no-cool calls ahead of routine work, even during the busiest stretch of summer.
Capacitor or compressor, the price you approve is the price on the invoice before work starts.
Real detection equipment finds the source, not just a temporary patch.
Six issues that cover the majority of what we see.
The leak gets found and repaired at the source, then the system is recharged and pressure-verified — not just refilled and sent on its way.
Hard-starting or high-amp compressors get tested before we recommend replacement.
Ice on the evaporator coil points to restricted airflow or low charge, and we trace the root cause instead of just thawing it, not just defrost it and hope.
A failing capacitor is a common cause of a dead condenser, and it's usually a same-visit fix once confirmed.
A coil caked in debris can't reject heat properly, which spikes head pressure and stresses the compressor, so we clean and inspect during the visit.
Electrical faults can mimic total compressor failure, so we rule these out first to avoid an unnecessary replacement.
Four steps to cold air again.
Describe the symptom — warm air, ice, tripping breaker — and we route the nearest tech and we'll get a tech moving.
Truck arrives stocked with refrigerant, gauges, and common parts within your window.
We measure before we touch, then quote a flat rate.
Same-visit completion is typical, backed in writing.
